Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 8.00 p.m.
A welcome drink will be served at 7.30 p.m.

We wish this dinner to be an opportunity to foster mutual understanding, by bringing together the current Portuguese and American Fulbright Scholars and Students, all Fulbrighters and Fulbright friends in Portugal.

  Two Fulbrighters were speakers at the III Symposium John Dos Passos - Modernity and Intercultural Dialogues, that took place at Ponta do Sol, Madeira, on the 14th of January.

International Conference
  On November 20 an International Conference took place at ISCTE/IUL, in which Dr. Thomas Hatch lectured on the subject of “What does it really take to improve schools? Reflections from the U.S. on accountability, capacity and teaching”, with closing remarks by Dr. Alexandre Ventura, Deputy Minister of State and Education.

Numa iniciativa conjunta da Embaixada dos Estados Unidos da América e da Comissão Cultural Luso-Americana (Comissão Fulbright), será comemorada este ano em Portugal a International Education Week (IEW), uma acção promovida pelo Departamento de Estado e pelo Departamento de Educação dos EUA entre os dias 16 e 20 de Novembro próximo e que visa celebrar e promover o intercâmbio educacional a nível internacional.

International Education Week celebrated
 

In celebration of the International Education Week (November 17-21), an initiative of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, the Fulbright Information Center, in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy, organized information sessions on the application process to U.S. universities at the undergraduate level, designed for Portuguese high school junior and senior students.
